APPLE PEAR COMPOTE with CINNAMON WALNUTS

A simple, natural dessert, easy and energizing
serves 4

Ingredients:

2 -3 Apples
1 Lemon juiced
2 – 3 Pears
3 tbsp Brown Rice Syrup
¼ cup Raisins
1/3 cup Walnuts
1 – 2 tbsp Cinnamon
½ tsp Ginger grated

Instructions:

  1. Wash, core, and chop apples and pears into slices or chunks.
  2. Place in a large saucepan with 1/3 cup water.  Add 2 tbsp rice syrup and raisins.  
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
  4. Add lemon juice, cinnamon and ginger.  Cook for another 10 minutes, until soft.
  5. While fruit is cooking, place chopped walnuts in a skillet over medium heat, and toast, stirring often, for 5 minutes.
  6. Add 1 tbsp rice syrup, but keep stirring since the syrup can easily burn. Top warm fruit with toasted nuts and enjoy!
