Millet Burger and Sesame Gravy

Ingredients:

3 C. cooked millet
1 carrot, grated fine
1 onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp sesame oil
¼ C. whole grain breadcrumbs
3 T. roasted sesame seeds
1 T. tamari soy sauce
¼ tsp thyme or marjoram
½ tsp sage, rubbed
¼ C. fresh minced parsley

Directions

  1. Lightly sauté carrot, garlic and onion in oil.
  2. Cover and cook on low heat 5 minutes.
  3. Mix in a large bowl with other ingredients.
  4. Shape into 6 or 8 burgers. If too crumbly, add a little water until they hold together well.
  5. Bake on an oiled cookie sheet at 375° for 40 minutes, or until crisp on the surface.
  6. Or, to save time, press into a shallow baking dish and make Millet loaf.
